Dole / Rent Allowance predicament

    Hi,

The lease is up in my current apartment (where I am getting rent allowance) and it is not being renewed so I have to move out. Myself and another one of my housemates were thinking of getting a place together..

We wanted to move to town (but obviously cant afford a 2 bed in the city centre) but he tends to be only around a few nights a week.. and I spend most my time in my room so were considering getting a 1 bed apt and using the sitting room as a bed room with a fold out couch or something..

Is this possible or would we be viewed as couple (and hence get our benefits slashed) ?

I wasn't rude. Unless you picked it up wrong I meant the system is stupid.

    Don't think gurramok's being rude!

He/she is also probably right. I think you'd find it difficult to convince the CWO that the arrangement is as you say, under those circumstances.
