Why don't RTE/TV3 show live coverage of the Dublin Marathon?

So back in September I did the half marathon in Dublin, when I got back to the hotel I relaxed and watched the Great Northern Run on the BBC.

I was disappointed that the Dublin half got so little media attention (with exception of times/names in the Indo) when compared to the great Northern run so I atleast expected more coverage of the full maraton in Dublin today.

Of course what do you see on RTE1 and Network 2 at the moment Dr Phil and Stuart Little 3, on TV3 there's some Jeremy Coyle ****e and not much better on TG4.

So why do RTE/TV3 make no attempt to cover a Marathon in Ireland that this year attracted a record 13k people, do they only give a crap about GAA, Rugby and football?

Whats won't they cover such a big event?
