I was looking through a book earlier and came across a picture of the Iolar and it struck me I haven't seen or heard of it for years. Where is it these days?

Still hangared at Dublin Airport. I think some work is being done to bring it back to flyable or at least taxiable status ahead of Aer Lingus's 75th anniverary in 2011.

Stovepipe of these boards and Aer Lingus said he was working on it recently and others too. Apparently Mueller is supportive of getting it up an running again. It's in the old Aer Lingus Commuter hangar.

    Both replies mostly correct.

The Iolar is in Hanger 6 in Dublin. It is being worked on by a small group of current and ex-EI staff with the intent to have it in the air again before the EI 75th anniversary next May. It had previously been sitting in the Commuter hanger.

Mr Mueller is keen to have it available for marketing purposes and he see's the merits of investing in this where the previous CEO just tried to stop spending money. Expect to see pics of it in the air by next March/April.
I have been told by an EI mate that they will also take delivery of an A320 in the early 1970s livery around the same time.
