    Agreed it's suckers/offshoots from 'Staghorn' Rhus typhina ...Lovely Autumn colour ... but tends to produce loads of new plants around the original plant... (in some cases it's considered a weed due to this habbit)

    Yep this looks like a "Staghorn Sumac". Beautiful tree but does have the tendency to have suckers growing from the roots. Many of these suckers however can be transplanted and repotted to for a brand new tree...
