Facebook account created using my e-mail

    I'm a little bit creeped out here.

    A few months ago I noticed that someone had set up a Facebook account using a gmail address I have. I never use the address except to log in to YouTube. I found out by my friend suggestions, and also that I was receiving Facebook e-mails in Indonesian to the address in question. I ignored it for a while, until tonight when I received a friend request (again in Indonesian) to that account. It dawned on me that as I owned the e-mail address I could reset the password and access the Facebook account, which I did. It was an Indonesian user, very little information on there, no photos, one friend and two requests, but the date of birth listed was one day off my actual date, though it was 1993. Not sure if that was a coinsidence or not. The given name was my e-mail address broken into two words.
    Anyway I deactivated the Facebook account and changed the password on the gmail account as a precaution, as I'd assume this person must have been able to access my gmail in order to confirm the user.

    I'm just wondering if anyone else might have had this happen to them? Not really sure what to be thinking of it.

    I know of someone who was alerted by facebook that someone in indonesia was trying to access their facebook account. They closed it & changed all their passwords to everything just to be safe and then re opened. Seems like the best course of action.
