I see that the BBC news readers and the lads on Match of the Day are all wearing poppies tonight, three full weeks before Remembrance Sunday which this year falls on Nov. 14th (Sunday closest to Nov. 11th).

For the past umpteen years the folks on Sky News were the first to wear the poppy, it was obviously a directive from the producers because all of a sudden every news reader and the various so-called 'experts' who turned up to prognosticate on all and sundry would all be wearing poppies.

Fair play to the BBC, always good to see someone pulling a fast one on Rupert Murdoch though it probably means that next year we can expect the people in Sky to start wearing the poppy in August.
