Was reading a newspaper today (think it was the Irish Star) and saw the advert for a new sports channel, Celtic Sports.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

The website is <snipped> but the dont give much information.

Never heard of them or anything about a new channel, how do they propose to afford the rights to Championship GAA? Or will viewers be treated to some club games? Sounds very cheap.

.co.cc is a free web address.. Thats cheap even by setanta standards.

Still it costs a million to set up a TV channel and what GAA rights would they have?

You should ask in broadcasting they will know if a channel licence has been given yet or not.. But I dont think this is a goer..

Probably County games that rte dont show (early championship/league)
LOI and basketball don't get much coverage in ireland so sounds ok.
Hope its fta cos i can't see much signing up unless they add more impressive sporting events to their schedule.

They've got a first days schedule up now.

Actually looks okay, but not much Irish sports there

No chance! It will never see the light of day is it a college project by someone? that website had a skip this add button.. As someone said above if they cant even afford a website address how can they pay for football rights?

Last year I had to book a downlink of a GAA match for a public viewing in a town. Not a big crowd and it was €1500 how much would it be for TV??!!

Looking at the page and there is not a chance that this is real.

They say "We will kick off with a feast of sports with Premiership and SPL football. We will also have many other shows on the day. "

Sky and ESPN might have something to say about that.

I just saw that! What a joke. Someone has been running a school project online and its got picked up by google and the rest is a case in the high courts as I suspect using official logs is a breach of copywrite in this context.

The "First Day Schedule" link is a linkbucks referral link (they make money when people click on it).

If this was a legit offering, they wouldn't do that. Thread closed, link removed from OP.
