    Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone can help but I am interested in delivering Fetac Healthcare Support Level 5 .I'm wondering if anyone here is delivering it and if so could you advise me re the breakdown/detail/structure of each module ie care skills, communication etc and anything else relevant of the syllabus. Any info would be really appreciated as I have not much experience(nil!) in the FETAC world.

    Thanks, B.

If you know what the modules are, the breakdown and marking scheme for each is on www.fetac.ie. Some of the ones that apply to you are here.

If you are not a registered provider I would suggest that you contact FETAC as they will give you details on becoming one. They ahve regular briefings etc for providers.

It is very important that you are aware that all current awards are transferring over to the Common Awards Systems and that means current awards are withdrawn as new formats coming on stream. This applies to all awards and if Health Care is due to undergo this soon then you would be better off starting off with the new CAS rather than the existing one as you will have a limited time to complete the old format.

If you are a publicly funded provider then contact the Support Service for FE as they can assist you.

Thanks for that info, it's very helpful. My main query is relating to actual structure. Does each facilitator develop their own course teaching materials or is there a set one already available?

    Ty, B.

You develop your own. Do remember in developing resources for each module to allow for materials to last for 100-120 hours in total. Also you will need to develop your own assessment materials and these should match the SLOs of each module and correspond to the assessment requirements. The last thing you want is an Extern refusing to certify because you have messed up the assessment.

Why don't you ask your tutor for help?
