Can anyone recall off the top of their head what the most expensive price flats have sold at in the Galway area in the last 5 years or so?

I'm thinking that complex opposite Barna Woods at Rusheen Bay or those at the entrance to Fisheries Field or around the Docks

2 bed "penthouse" (top floor) on the docks asking 800k, around '06-07 AFAIR.

Minimum €1m for the 'penthouse' at peak. Someone is still looking for €850k for one.

Wasn't there a two bedroom flat sold in Salthill, for 750k? Its at the end of the prom, overlooking the golf course.

    Thanks for the replies.
I did find a €1.25m asking price in June 2010

" Ladyswell, a development of 12 luxurious apartments beside the the popular Radisson Hotel overlooking Lough Atalia. These spacious two-bedroom units don’t come cheap – the range from €675,000 to €950,00 while a single three-bedroom penthouse with over 214sq m (2,300sq ft) is priced at €1.25 million."

LOL. Can you imagine being strapped to one of those now? When you can buy a new four bedroom house in Annaghdown for €180k, why would you want to live in an overpriced shoebox beside the Bus Station?

Do the swans come with the property? Would be perfect for a Polish couple who like their meat :pac:

don't know whether this counts or not, but on the "affordable housing" scheme you could get an UNDERGROUND two bed apt at a cost of 238,000 - this was thought to be an excellent offer by the council to people on the AFFORDABLE housing list. :D:D:D

I wouldn't pay 50k for a new four bedroom house in Annaghdown tbh.

okay there is a strip of water in front of you, but in reality you are only looking out on a rusty train track and the renmore estate. Not exactly the view of the century is it?

...and a couple of tents. What's up with that, there are now two tents on the grass accross the road from the Raddison?

Had a look around these when they launched, the penthouse is nice and they are all very well finished but even at half the price they would be expensive.

The appartments in Cuirt Seoige sold for 500K and there were people queing to get them. Now you can get one for less than 250K.

I agree that the prices are crazy.

But are there many jobs in Annaghdown? Is it easy to get from there to places where there are jobs?

No, but its a lovely place to live and raise kids and its only a 20 minute drive from where the jobs are.

Reckon Annaghdown will be €80k at the bottom, anyone with kids in Annaghdown will spend their lives ferrying them to kids activities which will basically happen anywhere but Annaghdown :)
