ford focus recon gearbox

    Hi guys bought a 2000 reg ford focus 3 days ago privately for 1500euros.
    nice motor the 1.6 ghia saloon model.
    bad news today the gearbox needs replacing 100k on the clock.
    does anyone know if traynors supply gearboxes and clutch kits?
    got a quote of 4ton today, thought it migh be cheaper to source my own and get it fitted by a local mechanic.
    would love some advice please.

    damn fords should of went or the avensis.lol:mad:

    Lex, you use the term recon gearbox, recon will be expensive.

    second hand gearbox will not be very expensive. has someone offered to supply,and fit one, inc a clutch if neccessary for 400 euro.? thats not dear.

    €400 isn't bad. Traynors would supply a box alright, not sure about a clutch kit but any motors would get one for ya.
