right story is im finding myself becoming more and more a plinker and im thinking about selling my aeg to pay for one of these.

    iv a few questions

    1. is it skirmish ready out of the box if i decide to go to one?
    2. what are the running costs like?
    3. is it hard to maintain?

plus any owners pics that might help sway me will be an added bonus!:D:D

    thanks in advance

I have a we hk 416, it wasn't a ra tech custom, but after awhile i put a ra tech npas, trigger, hammer, sear , valve knocker, tightbore and hop up in it so by now i suppose it is lol.

To answer you questions, i don't skirmish so i can't comment on it's suitability or otherwise.
Running costs for a gbbr would be higher in general i guess with gas or with the cold weather here i would suggest investing in co2 mags for this. good value can be had on co2 capsules. i find one capsule can last between 1 or 1.5 mags.
As regards maintenance, yea they can be finnicky, but i actually like that, most of my gbbrs, and i have a fair few, spend most of their time in various states of disrepair lol. After firing i would suggest cleanig and lubing most of the moving parts in the trigger box and the npas bolt itself. i personally prefer the WA system but my hk 416 after a bit of tinkering is working great now. if you do end up getting the ratech custom version the hop up should be upgraded as i would not rate the stock one highly.
To sum up yea i'd def advise getting one but be prepared to invest more than a bit of TLC in it. Hope this helps:)

Thanks a million for that horse84 looks like I still have a bit of thinking to do! Could I just ask what you think the advantages of the Wa gbbr's have over the we system?

    Thanks
