Commercial Grade Laminate Floors?

    Hello All,

We are replacing wooden floors in our hallway and living room at the moment. After calling to a few retailers we are seriously considering commercial grade laminate floors with a 25 year warranty.

We had initially planned to go for solid/semi-solid but there is considerable price difference for the same visual affect.

We have 2 small children so think these might be the way to go.

Does anybody have these put down and what are your opinions on them?

Is it better to go for a solid/semi solid?

We are in the Cork area.

    Help:confused:

Had balterio flooring fitting about a year ago and no sign of wear anywhere on it. There is a 25 year residential warranty on it.

we have semi solid in our house since it was built nearly 14 yrs ago and it's in good condition
family of 4 lived here before us so I think it's pretty hardwearing

however I've heard that laminate is better as it doesn't mark and is much more durable

my brother is using laminate wood in his house as he reckons it's more practical and solid wood is a rip-off and he'd know a lot more about it than me!:o

If it has a 25yr gaurantee I'd say go for it

Hi we have a mixture of solid floors, semi solid and laminate and my advice would be to go for the laminate. We have laminate down in one bedroom for 10 years and it is perfect no marks what so ever. Next time any of our floors need replacing we will go for a higher end laminate some of them are hard to tell apart from laminate.
The solid/semi solid can mark so easil and it only takes a few marks to make them look worn. It is a costly job getting them dsanded and varnished.

I have commercial grade laminate in main family room, its practically indestructible. No need to be careful with it, it takes whatever is thrown at it.
Bought it half price too, discontinued line, I bought last half pallet.
