Upgrade G3?

    I asked this question in another forum but didnt get much of an answer.
    Is it worh upgrading a Imac G3.
    Posible Cost?
    Seems a shame to waste it.

    There's not a whole lot you can do with it. Max out the RAM, replace the hard drive - you are still stuck with a 7-12 year old processor and an ancient CRT display.

    I'd still keep though. I gave away mine - and regret it. It was a great little machine.

    We have two of them (Orange coloured 333's) at work. A couple of years ago, I maxed out the RAM, fitted a bigger HDD and upgraded them to OS X 10.3.9. The highest OS they would go to. TBH thy're rarely used now, only when all the other Macs are in use, but then again when they only ran OS 8.5, they wern't used at all. It's a bit of a judgement call on your part as to justifying the cost. The price of RAM has shot back up again, and the CRT iMac is'nt the easiest to get in to. If you do decide to open it up be very careful of the CRT, there's some very high voltage stored in there. (Red coloured flexible lead attached to what looks like a rubber suction cup - DO NOT TOUCH THIS!)
