What's going on here?

I've been signed on and receiving my dole for a few months now. Recently I got a part-time job. Being the honest guy I am I went into the office and told them. I was told to fill out a form and mark what days I had worked on. The first week I didn't bother bringing the form in, because I had worked 5 days in one week so I wasn't going to receive any money anyways. Once I actually went a week without working I came in with the first docket I filled out (I brought that in because it was supposed to get stamped from my employer which the other dockets weren't). So I put two dockets in the box expecting to be paid for the newest one. That was over a week ago, I've already given in an other one since then. I'm supposed to get a check in the mail, but it's not coming! I'm expecting two checks now! Why won't they give me any money? I'm just left high and dry here, I'm not getting anymore part-time work so I'm completely broke.

Are they incompetent or did I mess up somewhere?

ya you messed up. you didnt follow the instructions you were given so blaming the workers in the social welfare office wont help you 1 bit.
no wonder there is huge back logs with claims when people dont "bother" leaving in their forms the day/week their supposed to and then leaving in a couple of forms the next week. there are thousands of these slips being handed in each week and workers are already under pressure sorting and processing them so you can hardly be surprised when your claim is delayed.

I'm not insulting them, I asked who's fault it was. Besides I was never expecting money for the first docket because I had already worked over the legal limit that week, I just thought I had to give it in.

Also, your username reminds me of the time I was looking for Christmas presents under my parents bed :(
