Simple question folks, have you got any SFP yet Y/N ?

A lot of people I've spoken to this wk haven't got money yet, general view is the whole digitisation of maps is a scam, for 2 reasons:

    1) So that some people in dept of ag can justify having a job.
    2) The government is borrowing money off the farmer until next january to cover up a few holes in their budget.

Just after reading some of the posts on the SFP. It is quite concerning for the future of Irish agriculture that there is such a dependance on these payments. In my view the rate of payment will only diminish for most farmers post 2013.

    Hi Ballyremote,
If you're old enough to have been working in the mid 1980's what was your salary, and do you think you could live on the same salary today?

That post assumes that the government is more intelligent than is humanely possibly:(. The reasons for delays are from EU itself(you may have heard of them, the guys supplying money to our banks as they try to stay afloat). There were 'issues' about farmers being paid on plots of land with non elegible areas not being taken out of the maps so the EU issued a diktat that all ineligible areas on maps must be removed before farmers could be paid. The people doing the digitation couldnt handle the 3 or 400% increase in workload so it caused a bottle neck in processing payments. I just dont understand how EU complaining about ineligible areas being paid on while paying out more money in environmental schemes so that elegible areas wont be paid on for production. Shouldnt someone introduce the EUs right hand to its left one:rolleyes:. Then again both points above are true to a fairly large degree

Not a penny of DAS or SFP received yet. Dept staff have been extremely polite and as helpful as possible, but the digitisation is being handled by an outside agency, so their hands are tied.

Not a peep about my Disadvantaged Area yet, must rattle some cages about that this week. I've the dreadful feeling I'll need to write more letters.

Got a call that there was a brown envelope waiting for me at home, asked them to open it, got some SP anyway, not sure if it's the full amount as I haven't read it myself.

It'll pay a couple of bills anyway.

Chase them, in my unpleasant experience if they cut or decide not to pay you, they won't tell you, they just do it.

    lol...

From the above article wrote on the 19th and the quote below given just before the 50% payout...
Department officials also insisted that payments of the 50pc advance in the SFP, which started yesterday, would not be affected by the digitising of maps.
    and then this Gem
Those farmers whose applications are fully processed and clear and farmers whose applications are fully processed but their only problem is a non- digitised map or maps will receive their advance payment on their cleared land," the Department maintained.

    One contradicts the other...

    The problem is digitising.

(Or is the money being held untill next year to make this years black hole look a bit sweeter in the dept/government budget? I'm not saying thats the case but a lot of people are...)

Rang the department today regarding the Reps 4 payment and am now being told that they 'hope' to pay out before xmas!

was told 6 weeks ago that payment would start in November...

gone beyond a joke at this stage...

Not one cent recieved on SFP yet.Rang Dept. and guess what ? 2 maps have to be digitised.I actually had enough area without these 2 little pieces of land but I wanted to be dead safe on nitrates.I won't be inclined to take undigitised land again. It is starting to work out very dear.

Got two letters in the door last week, one payment for remainder of Disadvantaged Areas Scheme (got most of it earlier in the year) payment date 20/10
Second letter was for 50% of Single Payment Scheme dated 18/10 and also said in that letter that balance will be paid in December

Surely it only has to be digitised once? And after that it's done forever so if you or anyone else takes that land again, there can't be any digitising hold up with it?

Andrew Doyle T.D was fobbed off yesterday I understand in the Dáil when asking about this debacle..

/me has got nothing yet :(

still not a penny of any money, lost all hope of seeing it before xmas.
may extend od for a while to get by.
from what ive worked out it is the digitization of a lagoon that is holding it up, also had a sfp inspection,no major problems with it, which is adding to the hold up
at least reps4 is on track to be payed.

Not a penny here either from them,I should have got over 10k or over 20k by dec 2nd

I rented an outfarm that was too awkward for me to farm and as a result my entire file has gone into the transfer section and won't be looked at untill both my home farm and the piece I've rented is digitised-so 2 delays

The farmers journal gave me some hope but this was quashed when it meaninglessly stated that the break through was on digitised areas.
Hello?? the problem was always areas not digitised. They had plenty of time!!

Then on into the rest of the article,it said those that have been paid none will be paid with the 2nd tranche but didn't elaborate.

I've handed my details over to the ifa to chase this up for me.

It's totally unacceptable as are any of the delays and they said nothing untill I discovered the payment hadn't came in.
Thats the first I knew about it.

Imagine what uproar there would be if the dept officials weren't paid and weren't told about it untill it happened!
