Small amount of private work and invoice

    Hey,

    I posted here awhile back.

I was advertising cad drafting as a service there awhile back privately, and was approached by a company to do a little for them.

They asked for an invoice and I asked here if I could give one, and was advised I could simply put down the charge and my name as a private person.

I have since sent this on and they are asking if there is a vat amount?

Is this applicable where an individual does a small amount of work? This is just over 200 euro's worth done in my spare time.

    Thanks.

I'd tell the company you have'nt charged them vat as you are not registered for vat,if you are registered as self employed just tell them
    that.

I was in college at the time just getting a little extra cash over the break so will that suffice for them? They said it would before but it is another lad handling the invoice.

    Thanks.

Im not sure but you could try just saying that your not registered for vat and didnt charge them any vat.

l presume they paid you by cheque before.

The company obviosly think you are registered and legit but you can be registered and legit without being vat registered.

To be honest l'd say there is more qualified people on here to help you than me tho.

Robbie is correct. Just tell them that there is no vat on the invoice as you are not registered for VAT as your income is below the threshold for registration. Shoud be no problem at all.
