I came across this thread from another forum, where a Delta pilot comes on and answers any questions the posters ask. There are some great questions and the pilot gives some excellent answers. A great insight into the working life of a long haul pilot (He got there the hard way) and a super thread overall.

I find the most interesting read is how a pilot got to where they are now. Often involves a lot of blood, sweat and tears, sacrifice but above all, determination (especially in this climate). Really great to read stories of guys who did it all and now find themselves rewarded for their perseverance, sitting in the right or even left hand seat of a commercial jet.
