    I did!

Customer service i assume? It's 3 years since I did it but IIRC there are 3 parts.

First, it's an attention to detail test.
They give you a handwritten list of data, and a typed list. And a third sheet for your answers. You need to compare the first list to the second and spot errors.

The next test gives you loads of information in different formats. Graphs, charts, tables, etc. Then it gives you a list of questions. You extract the information from the tables to answer the questions. So it could give you a pie chart titled "modes of transport" with 50% shaded for train, and 300 people being the total surveyed, and then it will ask you how many people took the train to work.

I think the third test was verbal reasoning. It gives you a paragraph with a lot of waffle basically, and a number of statements at the end. Based on the facts provided you need to say whether the statement is True, False or Cannot Say (if not enough info is provided to answer true or false). I actually HATE these tests but i did ok in it.

I think that's it. It's definitely not something you can study for.

I used to work in IL&P. You can definitely practice for these tests, they are SHL tests.

It's the verbal and numerical reasoning test.

    Yes.

There are different tests for different jobs. I'd assuming you're going for customer service, in which case the tests are as above.

If it's a professional job (management/finance) they give you two tests: verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning. They're similar to the customer service ones except harder. I did these, too.

If you're applying for an IT job, they give you a weird test where it gives you a bunch of symbols for each question, and depending on what the symbols are you change their order. I did this test too although I didn't apply for a computer job. You would definitely benefit from practicing these questions.

There is an interview for customer service too, which involves an interview with 2 interviewers. As part of the interview they leave you in the callcentre or separate room and phone you from a different room pretending to be a customer querying the value of their savings plan, slightly annoyed with the value, but happy when you promote self service and offer to arrange a meeting with a financial adviser.

Hi I am attending an aptitude test for Irish life tomorrow, I was wondering do they interview you the same day? I have not prepared for this as the email I received did not mention an interview on this day. It just said to schedule 1-2 hours for this meeting. Any information you have would be great.
