If you have more than one, then what's your main network?

NOTE: not your work phone (if you have one), your personal phone.

    Just for fun :D

I'm over 50 and on meteor, the crappist network known to man. No coverage in my house in suburban Dublin but I can get 3 bars on the Gap of Dungloe or the Wicklow Gap.

I was in college when Meteor launched and we all got free phones :D
Edit, well you had to open a bank account to get the free phone

I don't know if they still do that

I switched to Vodafone from Meteor recently, for a phone, but now I can make and receive phone calls. No signal for calls in Dublin before and texts only sent from centain places in room (virtually no signal downstairs).
I'm still on prepay, paying 30 for anynetwork texts + internet(20 without internet, so same as meteor for better service)

    Doesn't Eircom Own Meteor

(The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Irish telecoms network eircom, having been purchased for €420m in 2005. Meteor is the only Irish owned mobile operator in Ireland)

As part of their mobile strategy Eircom have also launched eMobile. This is to be complementary to the Meteor division (mainly used by residential wireless customers). eMobile is a mobile virtual network operator MVNO which uses the Meteor Network for its services to residential & business customers, to compliment the residential and business mobile services offered by Meteor.

So what is the point of this E mobile network now?

Meteor since 2008, I think they're the best - the best tarriffs and best customer service.

I was with Vodafone for 9 years prior to that, and I didn't like their customer service but thought all mobile phone providers were the same so was reluctant to change - until I was forced to as VF refused to give me an upgrade on a phone I had for 3 years that went dead.
I also had to scan their itemised bills carefully as they kept charging me for "free" texts!

Meteor. Service has improved. They're giving 15 euro extra credit when you top up by 30 euro.

I think I'll go with Eircell, their coverage is probably better too.

I'm with 3, the one everyone hates, which I did after switching from o2 last year, but this year got the new iphone and for 40 a month, unlimited landline calls, 3000 3 to 3 handy as the family are also with 3, 2 gb data allowance and 350 minutes per month. The service is perfect where I am, fortunate for me, but from what I hear this is a rarity. Ah well we will see in time.

Have been with Vodafone, O2 and 3. Currently with Meteor for the last two years roughly. No complaints apart from when they activated my voicemail out of the blue last month without asking permission, but a quick phone call sorted that out.

€20 a month for unlimited texts and calls when 80% of the people I know are on the same network is pretty good in my opinion.

Meteor for last 4 years, before that Vodafone for 2 years, but Vodafone sucked so I changed and plan on staying with Meteor (free texts as a student is a lifesaver!).

I have been on them all but the best is Meteor by far I have 5c calls and text and when I top up by 20euro I have free calls and text. Meteor rocks

According to this Boards.ie Poll, Meteor is the dominant player in the Irish mobile pohone market, but according to Wikipedia, Meteor held no more than 20% of the Irish mobile phone market just two years ago in 2008, so I wonder how much they poll now, country wide?

    What number is E-mobile using? (085, 086, 087,....etc)?

    Tesco Mobile is o2....

Anyway I was with Vodafone for 7 years but after they denied me an upgrade 18 months ago I went with o2

    €60 a month get's me:
    • 350 minutes to any network
    • unlimited text messages to any network
    • 15 MMS messages
    • 2GB data allowance

and their 3g network is so much faster then Vodafone's
