Mod, I hope you'll excuse me using the C word but with about 9 weeks to christmas I was wondering what we might expect particularly from the likes of Nova. As I understand it they have little on air cover so are we facing buy ins or a lot of automation ? Just curious. Traditionally one of the worst offenders Ive heard is 2fm

Ah good, a few months (probably) free of JFK, Twitter and nervous schoolboy conversations with the newsreader. Marian Finucane has been gone an AWFUL lot this year.. I think we can expect her to be gone for about 60 days..

The private stations are usually as bad for having cover on the xmas week, but the A-list presenters are off for shorter periods of time.

Marian work over christmas ? Thats unpossible. RTE can barely get her to "work" during the year.

Many stations will only be getting around to organising Christmas cover at the moment ... I'll probably be doing some meself (although that said, as it's a "probably" I won't go into any detail for now).

The hugely successful Christmas FM is back again this year by the way - this time covering Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and the South East! It kicks off in just over 5 weeks time!
