The greens have been a dissapointment and I cant see FF and FG ever going into together and I cant see FF and Labour getting together

So how will FF go in with next?

What makes you think they'll get in at all? According to this AH poll, it's gonna be Labor/FG next election. I'm personally gonna campaign in colleges for students to get out and vote, and if they do to vote for anyone but FF.

Probably Labour and Sinn Fein in two elections time, they won't be in the next Government.

Even allowing for Fianna Fail's deserved unpopularity at the minute, 5 years of FG and Labour led good, steady governance will be enough to have people voting for FF again. It's a cruel twist of Irish politics.

Will be interesting to see if FG and Labour can hold the electorate's trust while implementing hard reforms over a term of Government, if they can (and it'll be very difficult) it's feasible they'll be returned to Government, which would be a long side-lining for FF.

It's difficult to predict how SF will do over the next 5 to 10 years (the only other party likely to have enough seats to form any sort of Government with FF over the next decade). They really failed to make any impact at local level during the last local elections and there's a sense they aren't really exploiting the current crisis well. As they approach respectability to the point where it's possible to see them in Government with FF, it's also seems they are losing credibility as a 32 county party, after 15 years of peace, have they made enough inroads into the political life of the republic? What other cards are left for them to play, Irish people are ambivalent about a united Ireland and will probably be more pragmatic about it as the economy worsens/bottoms out.

It's also hard to know if we're facing a real break away from traditional Irish politics. At a local level, FF now have less councillors than FG, which severely limits their potential pool of recognisible candidates for the Dail. I don't get a sense that rural Ireland is ready to give up on either FF or FG as the party of choice though, if Labour becomes the dominant urban party (which I'll admit is unlikely) we could see an interesting divide between the parties.

A poll on boards.ie isn't worth much, very unrepresentative of how any general election will go

Sure look at the votes the Socialist groups are getting.
So many students here who probably won't vote anyway

Like any other political party FF will go in with essentially anyone if it guarantees them a share in a new government.

To be more precise there is no political party in this country who they will not go in with.
