I know this is old news, the events happened in the 70's but i thought it'd be fun to bring it to my esteemed colleagues of AH their perspectives on it. (I don't recall ever seeing another thread about it)

I know the Australian government doesn't give it too much attention, but apparently, they did everything above board according to the constitutional laws at the time. I say fair play to him :)

That just might be a bit of a hint.

Buy? Just take it. Stealing from a thief isn't really stealing. Besides, he's dead. Not like he's gonna sue you or try killing you.

Yes but u need some house or land. Or alternatively if you rip up the front garden of cowens lawn and carry it around with you that will do. What colour is the string i was thinking we could use it to make a flag!

Some guy in the Shetland did this too, he's fecking serious about it too. Basically declared independence from the UK but swears allegiance to the Queen. Bit like the Channel Islands.

I've got all kinds of colors and thicknesses. I've been collecting useless bits of string since I was about 6 years old. If you make a flag I can bring it back to Leitrim and claim the whole county. I don't think anyone would notice to be honest. The place is drenched in water, and I hear water's the new gold!

I drove past it there a while back but didn't bother venturing down.

Few of my mates have their passports stamped by your man, who is meant to be a bit of a loon. They also picked up some Hut River currency.

Pity a few farmers here wouldn't declare independence and stop leeching off the productive private sector urban taxpayer.
