Bought some whole barley from my local Glanbia store this year as it came off the combine. Paid them this week and was surprised that I was charged Vat. They said they were only charging me what they paid the farmer plus €5 per ton handling fee. Worked out at €162 per ton for 17% moisture. I just thought there wasn't any…
