Unsure where to post so mods feel free to move me ....

Im currently on illness benefit over 12 months. Im not employable as i cannot leave the house most days. I do however hate being on benefits & would love nothing better than to work. Im also a lone parent.
I have a hobby that could be a small business from home very easily & the joy is I dont have to leave to go to work. This hobby has been extended to friends & family & I have researched how demand would be for my product & it is huge . The problem is if i remove myself from benefits while trying to build this business how do I survive ?
Can anyone explain the BTWEA scheme ?
Also the VAT registration process & if grants are available. I simply think im just a bit scared of the process & would love to know where to start.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
