Just wondering, does anyone know if RTE or TV3 are planning on introducing new channels when the switch is made over to digital tv? I'd imagine they'll do a +1 service or something similar, but I'm thinking they might create new channels altogether??

Not as far as I know. The only extra on the current digital test transmission is an RTE news channel.
