    Biggins.

Listen to me once, and you need not listen to me again if you wish

The upcomming budget is not the end of the world.

Its essentially going to be 1995

Get the national expenditure on health and social welfare for 1995, click and paste and you have the next budget.

We survived then, we'll survuve now.

    +1

i too am getting sick of it, some of us weren't 'lucky' to get the jobs we have, we worked damn hard to keep them, everyone i know who lost their job because of the 'recession' has now got a different one in a different area with less pay, they are sucking it up until their industry is up and running again, not running away!

if you want to go, off you go, toodles... we won't miss your moaning...we will benefit from the savings from your dole, and we will hope you wake up and hopefully realise how the 'recession' you are running from is everywhere, and other countries have job losses too! :P

Indeed. A re-adjustment, as i've said before. The boom's over and with it goes the over-inflated, low tax, free credit economy that made us think we were actually successful because we could borrow money.

Time to join the rest of the real world.

I think that's the problem, they don't have jobs. I've 5 friends alone looking for jobs in teaching. They're fully qualified & they don't want to leave their homes, family & friends.

As for people who moan about it & say the country's a hole & take off, can't blame them too much. Is anyone here happy about bailing out Anglo & it's fat cats??

I hear what your saying but - and I say this with a child with serious medical issues (some of ye know about that) - there is only so much a body can take.

...And if anyone thinks that I am going to stay here and watch my daughters young body pay a bigger price in pain, in further disablement, for my desire to stay, as health services are ripped apart even more ...then no.

I have battled the FF assholes for 20+ years. I have tackled politicians face to face in Dublin and in other places of this island. I have gone on radio, TV, organised protests and spoke to thousands.
Still the gobschites still vote FF.

I can afford to stay. My daughter can't as health services get worse - and they will.
Now the plebs with the violins can go shove their instruments up their arse!

Yes, i do know this, however -and this sounds heartless, but im only pointing out the reality - farmer john in ballincollig doesnt know about your daughter, he cares about his issues, and unless his issue is to be a child like yours with the same condition, he will vote for what matters to him.

Healthcare in this country costs alot of money, to get things done that you need done - will that take a change of government? I dont know.

I've found that the majority of people who do emigrate don't endlessly bleat on about it, they go.

I'm off (again) on 2nd November and I haven't broadcasted it to the national population.

I take it you're just trolling and looking for a bite to your wind-up?

...And I agree with you in regards to the farmer example.

What gauls me is that uneducated fools that exist and not just on the net, come spouting "..then fcuk off then!" when in fact for all their keyboard warrior garbage, they know fcuk all about reality, the complicated issues that effect many beyond their black and white perspective.

I can accept the likes of SamSamSammy has a view and can understand where it comes from - but that don't make it right either.
Such too quick spoken words betray a lack of understanding or viewing of a wider picture.

Even if you actually decide to emigrate there's the little obstacle of actually being legally permitted to stay in your chosen country for more than a year!!. My brother is trying to get back into Australia with a skilled Visa application after forking up a non-refundable fee and he is five days short of the required work experience. He is fully qualified and worked while he was in Australia. Then there's the processing time.

I attended the working abroad expo in the RDS with him and the Australian rep who was giving a presentation said , 'Less than 10% of the people applying for permanent Visas will actually get them". There's a lot of dodgy companies out there making false promises in this regard.

    Take a seat there, Johnny.
I'm going to tell you a little secret.

There are other countries on this planet.
I know this might come as a bit of a shock to you and others who seem to believe that the only other place on the planet with available work is Australia, but it's not.

I know, I know. I too was amazed upon hearing this news.
Skeptical, I looked a bit deeper into it and found this.

It took me a while to get my head around it (it's quite a large planet), but eventually I came to terms with the vast amount of things you can do in these other countries.

You never thought about that now did you?

I agree... GTFO and let the rest of us get back to making money.

this whole appeal of going to the US doesn't make sense to me either. Are people that stupid that they don't see international news and realise that the US is in a far worse position economically than we are? Good luck getting a visa, getting over there, finding a job and a place to live.

Well, I emigrated ... to Ireland, in 1999, worked for 8 years, paid a lot of tax, then started university in 2007. I'll need a reason to stay after mid-2012 (when I'll probably finish university), such as ... I don't know, a functioning economy?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Charming :o. As they say in Boston , 'I'm not the one'. I was relaying a story based on the experience of somebody close to me. I'm fully aware that there are other countries of interest in terms of employment on Earth. I've been to the places where the tourists don't thread. Who moderates the moderators?.

You see it all the time one foreigner who starts speaking to another foreigner who does not like a place they are in, i saw it with Kiwis, Paddys and poms back home try and denigrate Australia and ive seen it happen here in Ireland with all nationalities , a simple question normally stops the conversation
"What the Fu£k are you doing here then"
