Just a question to get peoples opinion!

Do you swing the same as with an iron as with a Driver/Wood? The only difference being distance from the ball and position of ball in stance!

Fairway woods would be similar yea. Driver is a different ball game! I increase my swing arc and don't lean it! I let the weight of the driver follow me through! Reason being your not getting under the ball you need to hit up on it and all the power comes from the length of the driver not you driving through it on impact.

Following lessons I have a much flatter swing with my driver.

    Made a huge difference

Depends on what iron I'm using tbh. The higher the loft, the punchier my swing gets as I'm more accurate that way. The lower the loft, the wider my swing is.

I'm not long playing ... but consistently my drives are pushed about 30 to 40 yards to the right... while about 50% of my irons miss on the left (never to the right)... I have it on my to do list to take a video of my swing just to see what I am doing...

You are (or should!) be trying to do different things with your woods and driver off the tee than your irons.
You have to compress your irons (hit them on the down swing) to get control and distance.
Your woods (off a tee) will travel further if you hit them on the up swing.

For years Ive been hitting my irons with a driver swing, no divot and lacking penetrating ball flight while my driving has been the best part of my game.
2 lessons in and Im seeing a huge diffrence in iron play and driving is still good.

For me the secret was to not think the same swing thoughts with each club, instead to think about what Im trying to do!

    Greebo
Can you elaborate on that last line that you made?

I feel I swing much flatter on my woods than irons! I was just curious as there seems to be a theory that your swing should be the same for every club (excluding the putter!!)

I was always under the impression that its the same swing with each club but its not and if you think about it, it cant really be.
You are not trying to do the same thing with each club.
This explains all those times when you are either hitting your irons well or your woods, but not both.
Dont get me wrong, Ive played to 5 with my "driver" swing everywhere, but it involves having a really good day at the timing office IMO.

Right now I have a specific feel that Im trying to get with my irons (it feels like my downswing is out to in, but its not)
For my driver I dont try to feel anything as thats working and always has.

FYI I also used to have much more success with irons off the tee when hitting them on the up like a driver.
