I don't know about Carlow, but I go to Gubbins and O'Shea in Wexford town. They're great. Or else there's a vetinary centre on summerhill in wexford that's really good with small animals

Village Vet Hospital in Kilkenny is very good, very thorough. They are on the Kells road. Abbeyside Vets (now on the Dublin Road) is also a nice vet practice in Kilkenny.

I second Village Vets in Kilkenny (www.villagevet.ie). Have also used Gubbins & O'Shea and been happy.
