Looking for any recommendations on a seven day break within or close to Europe (not interested in a long haul flight), would need to be guaranteed sun and a min four star resort.

Always been more adventurous in our holidays in the past, so no idea really what the story is with this sort of break, any advice most gratefully received.

not to sound negative but you wouldn't be guaranteed sun anywhere in europe this time of year it'll be almost Nov when you're going

Just back from canaries where everyone expects year-round sunshine and although it was hot/warm it wasn't actually sunny most days and it was rainy and cloudy most days...not that it bothered me TBH I'm not a sunworshipper and not into those kinda hols anyways!:o

But your best bet if not canaries is prob morocco/tunisia/turkey (sea pearl 4*hotel in kusadasi is beautiful) or egypt

Sorry I'm not of more help but that's what I'd recommend given ye want sun with relatively close proximity and budget of 1500

yeah - suspected we would be down to N Africa for sun - not a complete sun worshiper either to be honest, its more the possibility of going somewhere and it pissing rain thats the worry. Thanks for the advice.

    Tunisia gets my vote

We went there in August for 10 nights. Sooo relaxing

A little too hot at times, as just when we were getting used to the 34-35deg heat, it shot up to 42 on the Sat and it was just too much

Going back in April next year, just like you for a 7 night pre-summer break, 10 nights maybe just a little too long for where we were

European resorts in Winter for sun. Toughie. The Canaries or North Africa as already stated are your best bet. My mum and dad went to Tenerife last December and they got good enough weather. Very little rain and around 20C most days.

Asking your travel agent would be your best bet.;)
