    Hello all.

Just a quick question about using different coloured Contact Lenses.

This year for Halloween, Me and my girlfriend are attending a mates house party. I have decided to dress up as the ninja Scorpion from the popular 90's video game, Mortal Kombat.

(Scorpion for all who don't know)
I have worked very hard on a home-made Scorpion costume and believe it looks pretty cool indeed.

For the full effect of the costume, I was wondering if I should place completely white coloured contacts in my eyes. (As every depiction of Scorpion has white eyes)

I have mentioned this to my girlfriend, however she was saying that it might be a bit dodgy as coloured contacts can damage the eyes.

Was just wondering if using Coloured Contacts are safe to use, and if so, where could one find reliable ones? Also, not too sure if one needs a prescription.

    Thank you for your time!

    Cheers, Dave.

My boyfriends best friend went as sub zero form Mortal Combat(I think) the year before last. He said he got several wears from his. Now if you buy your contacts from a crappy little place you could be in with a risk of a nasty eye infection and thats not fun.

The last time I was in specsavers I saw coloured contacts for sale. If you are in Dublin it was the grafton street branch downstairs. It's worth a try.

mu999. Post meaningful comments please. I've deleted your posts from F&A and added an infraction to your account. Your post count will build up over time, there is no need to rush it by posting nonsense or inane comments all over the forum.

    Hey Dave,
Let us know how you get on with the contacts or what you hear about them. I bought some in the Halloween shop in Georges Street Arcade but am a bit aprehensive myself about wearing them. Reading up on the net seems like you could damage your eyes with them.
How much are the ones in Specsavers?

I'm a lenses wearer and would recommend that you go through a respectable vendor or buy from a recognised, quality brand.

IMO most opticians around Ireland are WAY too expensive for lenses so I buy them at a fraction of the price online. I know that they sell white-outs on www.yourlenses.ie and it might be worth comparing the prices with Specsavers et. al. The delivery usually comes within 5-7 days.

Obviously, if you have not used lenses before please be very careful with how you do it! Usually, I go to a consult with my optician but then buy online. They're your eyes - you only have one set, so no point in taking any chances. Good luck!

I bought block white ones and put them in last night, I think my pupils are too big though cause I can kind of see white when I look through them. Will my eyes adjust or am I just going to have to walk around totally blind Halloween night, but looking freaky cool!
