FaceTime on Iphone 4

Got an Iphone 4 recently on Vodafone.

Was using Jelly SMS for texting non Voda friends and got this pop up message a few times:

"FaceTime - Your carrier may charge for SMS messages used to activate FaceTime" - At first I was hitting the ok button (two options Cancel or ok).

Had a look online at my bill and notice I have been charged 12c three times on my bill from this no. +447786205094 and when I googled it I got a french article that links it to FaceTime.

Can anyone shed some light on this as to how I can avoid the costs in the future?

    Thanks in advance

its part of the activation process for facetime.
o2 refund these charges - actually, they fixed it so that they are never charged for in the first place.
You should call Vodafone and ask them to do they same since they officially support the handset.

Every time I open up the Jelly SMS Im getting the message now.

I'll give Vodafone a shout and see what they say. I looked at my first bill online and notice I have been charged for one text already so maybe Vodafone are not taking 02s lead on this one.

I checked in my settings and FaceTime is turned off!

    Thanks for the advice though......
