    I'm hoping to learn bass guitar in the near future, and while shopping around I came across an instrument I really liked. It's a Vintage Est96, on sale for about €369. I was just wondering if people think this is a decent bass, for a decent price, for a beginner.

    I already play two instruments to a fairly high standard, unfortunately nothing that lends itself to playing bass. Mostly what I'm looking to do with it at the moment is play death metal, in the style of Cannibal Corpse and the like, but in no way is that all I want to do; I'm interested in just about every style. There seem to be other instruments more suited to playing heavy music, but this bass seems pretty diverse and would lend itself well to metal and downtuning, as well jazz or whatever, whereas the others seem more limited.
