broken screen on dell studio 1555

    i broke my screen on my year old dell studio 1555 laptop. i was wondering is there any places in galway that could fix it cheaply. i was also thinking of replacing it myself and if ye would have any recommendations where to source a cheap screen online?? thanks in advance any help much appreciated

    Ebay is probably your best bet for sourcing a screen. Expect to pay 100+ for one.

    and the size may not be an exact match. It could be out by a little. It will still work, but there may be a gap with the bezel.

    Just source the exact model panel, don't just buy anything you see.

    ya i think thats what il do so. how hard do ye think it would be to remove the screen to see the model number. any specials tools or screwdrivers?

    Something like this would probably do the job.

    There are disassembly guides on the net for Dells so it should be relatively straight forward. You may end up having to take apart a lot of the laptop, but it's not very difficult. Just don't lose the screws;)
