Ladies and gentlemen of the jury,

I come before you all so you may learn from my mistakes. With my test rapidly approaching (tomorrow at 9am), I asked my gf would she go and top up my motor tax for me on my car today. I had bought it in July and it was taxed until October. My gf went to the office two weeks ago to be told the form needed my signature. No problem, signed the form. Last week she went, I needed the log book because it was my first time taxing this car. No log book to be found, finally got an exemption as it appears NOONE knew where it was and it was all to be sorted today.

Today my gf goes in, form all filled in, money in hand, and she gets told that instead of taxing it in Dublin where I live, I need to tax it in Wexford Town, where the car is registered. Not only that, but, thanks to my unbelievable luck, the tax disc that was in the car that i was told was good till october this year, was actually good till september last year. So now I owe 3 months in arrears as well as having to have my gf travel all the way to wexford town because the tax office has no inter-county communication.

I'm left fairly frustrated over the whole thing but the thing to remember here is that it WILL all get done, mostly in part because my gf is amazing but just to warn anyone else here, it's NEVER too early to sort this stuff out!

    Live and Learn!

Ugh, sounds like a nightmare. Hurrah for wonderful OHs though!

Best of luck tomorrow, try not to let the stresses of the past couple of days throw you. Just relax and enjoy it.**

**I know it sounds bizarre to tell someone to enjoy their test but I just got into my car and enjoyed my little drive and next thing I knew I was being told I had passed!
