Stone Age Race Results

Some time ago I was speaking to a leading race organiser and he commented on the "stone-age race results coming from a lot of these new races" and, looking through the current edition of the Irish Runner, I see several race results with finishers club and/or category missing - I count 7 of these races in the magazine.

Club/district and age category are both collected, as far as I'm aware, by all races and can easily be reproduced in the results. Is it that the organisers don't understand that these are normally included in the results? Or that they just couldn't be bothered?

Several months ago I posted a table of Half-Marathons (and similar distances) comparing entry costs/prizes on offer/organiser status. as a result of that I got phone calls from several irate commercial race organisers. I've now revised the table to include results. It appears that, in general, the higher the entry fee, the worse the results, (along with my previous observation of a poor prize spread). So for your extra €35-€50, you get bands and scenery, clearly essentials for any decent race!.

All I can find on-line is the query form and that then just gives the County, not club. Personally, I'd prefer to see Club, or where the runner is 'freelance', the district that they come from.

    TDS-Live gives the Club:

    http://www.tds-live.com/ns/index.jsp?login=&password=&is_domenica=-1&nextRaceId=&dpbib=&dpcat=&dpsex=&pageType=1&id=3002&servizio=000&locale=2057#

Edit: Now I see where you were looking at the results, yep that is not quite as good although it is the obvious place to look for most people.

Thanks for the link! I'm surprised to see more info there rather than on the official race site. However, I'll keep the table 'as is', since, as you say, that's where most people will look.
