    Hi,

I updated my iPad to 4.2 beta 3 today thinking it would be easy to activate ;-)

As I dont have a developer account it aint

Anyway is there any iOS developers out there that can add my iPad identity (UUID) to their account, Ill give you €10 by paypal and promise not to mess around with betas in future ;)

Its as good as bricked otherwise...

    I can PM my UUID.

It's not bricked - - you can restore to 3.2.2 anytime.

It's a 3G one so the baseband was updated. It can't be downgraded.

How do you update to 4.2 if you are not a developer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,611 ✭✭✭cgarrad

    You dont ;-)

You can "become" a developer by using this site for $7.

    http://download.imodzone.net/

A guy on boards added my device to his developer account.

But its probably worth $7 to give access to betas, especially this one...

Just be warned that beta software can be unstable at times and some apps may not work. You may also be refused tech support from Apple if you're running betas.

4.2 beta (not beta 3) allowed you to upgrade with being a Dev , I am using 4.2 on mine and so far so good - it will be out in a month so its not far away.
