Kitten stopped using litter box for pooing

We adopted a stray kitten that we found a few weeks ago. For the first 3 weeks he used his litter box without any training or prompting, but now while he still uses it for wees, he won't poo in it. Instead he uses the floor and even his bed.

Has anyone had any experience like this before? I could understand if he wasn't doing anything in the litterbox, as maybe he mightn't like the litter but as i say he's still doing his wees there (there was a change of litter brand during the first 3 weeks but he continued to do everything in his litter tray. We've tried going back to the original brand since but it has made no difference).

Any help or ideas appreciated !!!

OK, sounds silly but could you provide a second tray maybe?
He might then use one for number ones and the second for number twos. They can be notoriously fickle feckers when they want to be.
