    Hi All

I am replacing a broken shower switch and I am not sure of how to wire up the replacement.

Here is a link to a photo of the old switch:

What I am unsure about is the following:

Do I wire the old mains live (labelled one) to the new Lin and the old load live (labelled two) to the new Lout (my guess) or should it be the other way around?

I imagine the answer to the above also applies to the neutral connections.

Finally, the earth connections: the old switch had two earth wires (labelled five and six)...does it matter which of the two earth connections these are wired into on the new switch?

    Thanks in advance

    John

    agree with m cebee
safety is paramount especially with big loads like showers and earth connections need to be secure

You are correct that the incoming live cable should go to Lin and the live to the shower goes to Lout.

There are 2 earth connections in the new switch also. So put wires marked five and six into these. I would also put some earth sleeve on the two earth wires marked 6.

This is going to carry quite a heavy load, so if you don't feel confident get an electrician in as the others above have said.
