went to the match in thomond park yesterday and hung around for a couple of hours for the celebrations , munster fans know their rugby and enjoy their guinness:D:D

head and body wasn't the best, while milking at 6 am but got through the motions , taking the cows back to pasture after 8 the sun appeared and shone over my shoulder on the golden beech and oaks then I saw the holly which never had a berry for years and now not a leaf to be seen only a mass of red berries,

supposed to be sign of hard winter but to me this is heaven on earth

"The heineken cup is underway so winter can't be far behind" Emmet Mooney in this week's IFJ ,

as I can say is , bring it on

emmet moloney is an unbelievable pain in the arse ( no journalist exagerates more the level of interest rugby holds in this country , especially amongst farmers ) but i agree with you about this time of year ( when the weather is good ) and a well written post i might add

True, its one of the most pleasant times of the year and one of the best October's I've seen in years. You're right, I believe the berries on the holly is supposed to be a sign of a cold winter to come. Its to be a lottle cooler later in the week, but some of the long term weather forecasters are predicting that our winter will be as harsh as last year's. Hopefully it won't be - but as long as the roads stay clear and the water pipes don't freeze I'll be happy with cold weather.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Good job you have quiet cows or you could have invented a new olympic sport. COW SKIING:D

:D:D learnt that trick years ago , i was milking for a fella and it was a really foggy morning , i got lost in the field:o held on to the tail of a passing cow and she brought me to the milking parlour:D also quite handy if majorly hungover , the cow can pull you up the hills when you are bringing them in, my friend used to hop up on a quiet cows back to save her walking
