Luas will be going there next year at some stage.

http://www.rpa.ie/en/projects/luas_citywest/construction/Pages/default.aspx What part of citywest are you going to and people may be able to give some more accurate info. Its fairly spread out.

Also the Dublin Transport Office (now the National Transport Authority) has this route planner, that may help....

Dublin Bus route 69 goes to Citywest via Inchicore - full timetable here

It operates from Aston Quay via the Quays, Conyngham Road, South Circular Road, Inchicore Road (Kilmainham Gaol), and the via Gratton Crescent and Tyrconnell Road.

Use the map button on the timetable to see the bus stops.

There is also a private bus that operates via Emmet Road - details here.

I've no idea where Cooldown Commons is but there is a Cloonmore estate around Jobstown in Tallaght that is close to Fortunestown Lane; perhaps that's it. The 50, 56/A and 77 will get you near enough to there but check with work to make sure exactly where you are going to first as Fortunestown Lane is quite long from one end to another.

I would think the stop in City west is Kingswood Cross, not 100% on that.

The 69 or the Citylink local bus from the Square it is.

First of all, why don't you ring the nursing home and check exactly where it is and what buses go near it.

The 69 bus goes to Rathcoole via the N7, Clondalkin and Citywest. It leaves the N7 and serves several stops in the campus. The best stop is at Bianconi Avenue at the main N82 Citywest Road. Fortunestown Lane is a 10 minute walk south along Citywest Road going towards the mountains (easiest way of describing it!). From Google Searching Cooldown Commons, it would appear to be
the area adjacent to the N82 (west side) on Fortunestown Lane.

Ask the driver to let you off at the main road in Citywest (Citywest Road).

As I said in the post above use the map button on the timetable to see where it goes. Just follow the route west and you will see Citywest eventually. Zoom in and go south and you'll see Fortunestown Lane.

I'm assuming the nursing home is the TLC?

Its very, very far down Fortunestown Road. Realistically it might be easier to walk from Saggart than Citywest itself. I don't know the bus routes though.

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=saggart&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=10.029165,28.256836&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Saggart,+County+South+Dublin,+Ireland&ll=53.284254,-6.433568&spn=0.009904,0.043945&z=15&layer=c&cbll=53.284242,-6.433071&panoid=m0gw7RyuWliHYmDGekrQIg&cbp=12,9.39,,0,5

Thats it off in the distance, don't think the Street View car went all the way down.

As MYOB states looking at that map then you are best to stay on the 69 until it reaches Fortunestown Lane along the road into Saggart.

There are a few private bus services to Citywest as well. Will look them up tomorrow on our intranet site in work.

I have put the link to them up already above.

Tbh given where the OP is coming from and going to the 69 is the best option.

Get off the 69 on Garter Lane, Saggart outside Citywest Hotel. Walk back down to Fortunestown Lane where the new Saggart Tram terminus will be (it's already built), follow the tram lines and take the first left turn crossing the lines as you do so. This is Cooldown Commons and the nursing home is the only building there at the moment. It takes about 10 mins to walk from the bus stop.
