Leaving a course and BTEA

    Hi

I just started college in DIT this year as a mature student and I was approved for BTEA which is being paid into my account every week, I have not received the 500 as yet.

I now realise that I don't want to do this course and in fact don't want to be in college, so I've decided I'm going to leave.

What is my next move, with regards social welfare? Can I go back onto JSA and look for a job? Who do I have to inform of my plans?

    Any info would be appreciated.

Sorry don`t mean to be rude but you`ve taken a place on a course, obviously as a mature student, and got btea - lucky you! theres lots who wish they could be in your situation, why are you leaving your course and the place that someone else didn`t get cause you took it?

I`m a mature student on btea and I really appreciate the opportunity and can`t understand how any adult could have signed up for a course without serious consideration first. Maybe they need to vet people more thoroughly and question their commitment.

Pretty sure you`ll easily get back on UA but they might torture you a bit if their in the mood (which I obviously would be!)

If you wish to provide advice, feel free to do so, but this is not the place to pass judgement over people
