What mental disorders would you develop during a zombie apocalypse?

Living in an undead world will cause trauma to most people and the longer one lives alone the more likely they are to develop types of mental disorders. As time goes on, the death toll rises, and the undead slowly take over... which disorders do you believe that you, yourself, are most susceptible to?

I personally believe I would be most likely to develop schizophrenia. I tend to enjoy being around people most of the time and I feel like being stuck in a safe house alone would eventually lead me to living in my head and becoming more imaginative than I already am. And I feel that after that I would find myself projecting these imaginary characters into real life and having verbal conversations with something I perceive to exist out of loneliness.

I don't think most people will be living alone simply because they wouldn't be able to survive on their own.

You can look to natural disasters and then to war zones like Palestine where people have to endure hardship for a long time for examples of what life will be like for humans.
The fact is many humans today have to live through many of the effects that something like a Zombie apocalypse would bring. Starvation, disease, living rough, constant fear of attack and watching death on a regular basis, they just deal with it because that's what humans do, they adapt to their environment and situation and do whatever it takes to survive. When your simply surviving your brain is engaged a lot more and like anything in the human body the more it's used the healthier it gets.

A Zombie outbreak would have a time span, it wouldn't be a permanent thing, the Zombies would eventually decay and the disease would be contained by it's poor methods of transmission only being effective in large urban environments.

With Zombies out of the way a drastically reduced human population by all accounts would thrive.

Then we can get to work repopulating. In that case I reckon my disorder would be sex addiction. Booyah! :D

for me, definitely becoming desensitised to it all.I can be quite a cold person at times and with the pressure is on, I imagine I'd forget about people and just stop caring any more

But when you check the door you find the scratch marks are on the inside.:D

    Right here goes:

    Sleep deprivation.
    Isolation/Loneliness.
    Guilt.
    Nightmares.
    Fear/anxiety, anxiety disorder.
    Depression.
    OCD.
    PTSD.
    Panic disorder.
    Agoraphobia.
    Hallucinations.
    Paranoia.
    Antisocial.

The above depends on several factors.
Location, human contact or lack there of, duration under siege, supplies, fortifications, personal zombie experiences, stress levels and prior/post medical condition(s).

If the attack was to last up to 3 years, I'd reckon I'd be ok.
(not a complete raving looney :D).
Anything after that the stress levels would eventually take their toll. :(

Since I already have many disorders taht make me cool I would have to say the only one I would find strange and new would be "Blood Lust"

essentially I'd find myself going crazy for the red stuff. I mean come on how many of us are really looking to hold out somewhere long term with out getting a bit messy. TBH there are lots of ways I've been dreaming about fending off the pending horde now is my time to "Nut up or Shut up".

I'd say depression would be the most likely, its likely taht alot of people would end up sitting in a basement somewhere rocking on the floor mumblung to themselves about Mc Donalds or summat like that :L

What about the poor zombies??? They're all gonna contract CJD from eating all those human brains!! Did anyone think of that?

That's why the whole notion of barricading yourself into a building just won't work because that's exactly what will happen. Depression is the mildest condition you could pick up, it'll more than likely be some form of full blown dementia. People just don't do alone well at all.

Over all, having your brain constantly on alert will keep you some what healthy, it's the lack of downtime that will eventually break a person.
