I have been using Lenovo/IBM thinkpads for years now. Topnotch, in my opinion. Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have never had a single issue.

Asus are great built machines, I don't know how lenovo are since they bought out IBMs computer business but IBMs were good machine as well. I would be wary of buying with laptopsdirect though. Just do a search of their name here and see some of the problems people have had.

Lenovo are pretty good, I felt they were a bit plastic but they work fine. They're a new brand name for IBM which used to be well regarded.

Asus are also excellent computers, good value.

    Hi

I bought an Asus from this site last monday night and it arrived yesterday afternoon.

    https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Products/man/asus/cat/netbooks

They were the cheapest website I could find, very competitive and free antivirus thrown in.

Delivery was £9.95 to Ireland. They stopped my purchase by credit card and I just gave them a quick call and to verify my purchase and they processed the purchase immediately. Only thing was they charged me a credit card surcharge of about £6 so factor that in also.

I checked out reviews of their site before I purchased and the reviews were excellant. Have to say I received my order really quickly and am very happy with my purchase! The same laptop on irish sites was €80 - €100 dearer. The laptop I bought has since sold out but there is good value to be had.

    Hope that helps!

I would agree, I'm typing on a Lenovo Z61t now, 4 years old and not one problem.

I would recommend you to go with a thinkpad range if your going with a Lenovo.
THe build quality will be better.

    Lenovo SL510 €478.
