    Hey,
Just wondering has anyone ever worked with or heard of or been offered a job with this school!?
I applied online and got an email today saying myself and 2 others have been appointed out of 76 applicants for the job of english teachers.
This is without phone interview or anything..based solely on my cv, covere letter and qualifications. Is this a bit fishy or the norm with jobs out there? Is it a genuine offer?
They said they will fly me out as soon as i get visa sorted myself (and they will be refunded for it then). So basically as soon as Im available to go!
Any advice or previous experiences please and thanks?

sounds like a fraud to me.... I had a similar "offer" 2 years ago, no interview nothing, just you're hired! and then they wanted me to Western Union 350 dollars..... RED FLAG!!

headmaster@englishteachingacademy.tk is NOT IN DUBAI anything really from the UAE will have .ae at the end.... these are probably scam artists/ data miners/ con men, etc.....

ask them for names of references, co-workers, former students, etc to try to independently verify this

anyone asking you for money to have a job is flat out lying. send them nothing

It's a scam. Send them nothing.
    See:
    http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/scamalerts/index.pl?read=983

You'll find there will be no refund and people in Dubai know of no such company.

I've received some e-mails from the same school. In the second e-mail they told me that I was accepted. Now, they want me to translate my documents in Arabic by offering someone( from their team). Probably it is the way they get the money..
The first thing I did was looking for their website, which was really suspicious.
The website looks fake and doesn't include any info for any course or any students.

I got blissfully happy when I saw 4.800 dollars!!! :):)

I'd like to share that website with you.

I love the 'native or near native' English in the testimonies of some of their alleged staff on the testimonies page. They'd be getting help with their English in our school.

Still, on a serious note, they probably only need one or two people a month to fall for their scam. Hopefully anyone considering it will have the wit to check it on the net and find this or one of the other threads.
