I recently replaced the highlight bulb on a 06 ford Mondeo. However it seems to be brighter than the other side. The blubs are exactly the same and I compared it to the old one and it seems the same.
    Any ideas?

    Clean the headlight glass?
Are you certain the bulbs are the same? Same wattage? Same brand?

Maybe the change caused the socket to move a bit and so it shines directly into your eyes now?

It is exactly the same bulb, but I will recheck it again.
there is only on wire fitting at the back in the mondeos, and the wire can only go in the one way. It is a pain to change them as you have to remove the grill and then the complete headlamp.

REplace the other bulb. They tend to last roughly the same time anyway

    +1

I have found that the second one usually goes soon after the first one so usually replace them in pairs.

I think the bulb I have is too bright as I get the old flash from drivers.
I checked the old bulb again and it is exactly the same
    H7 12V 55W so I don't know.

I will try to replace the bulb with a new one

55W is standard for dipped headlights.

Are you sure the New bulb is installed properly (ie flush & not seated properly??)
did you take the unit out to fit it or in situ;)

Get the headlight alignment checked, my guess is that you knocked it off when you removed the unit.

This was my fault. I checked it again and the light was not sitting correctly in the head lamp. Looks fine now. Thanks for all the replies.
