Rocco Mediate is -6 after 9 holes...... Surely not another sub 60 round in the making?

Didn't happen, but he shot 64 and has followed it up with a 65. 4 ahead at the half way point.

Fellas, anyone else watching here? How awesome is this 17th hole! Driveable par four, one of the leaders damn near flew his drive straight in the hole just there...

Are you f*cking kidding me??!! Rocco Mediate - who laid up at the driveable par four - has only gone and holed his second for an eagle!!

Unreal golf being played here. Poor aul Ricky Fowler thinks he still has a chance !
Almost a hole in one on a par 4 from Alex Prugh before Rocco

    SAVAGE

This is one of the best finishes to a tournament ive seen in a long time. That 17th hole was just crazy.

Having watched Rocco lay up, Bo Van Pelt hot a great drive to about 20ft for eagle, he must've really thought he was in the driving seat. Then Prugh damn near holes his tee shot, leaves it stone-dead for eagle, and Rocco holes out... I'd imagine Van Pelt's mind was doing somersaults, he then three-putted for par and that was his chance gone. Unbelievable, this game of golf!

Rocco on green in reg at 18, in the bag now, surely...

Rocco's caddie needs to be shot

Turns up in the lashing rain with a pencil bag and no head cover, clubs must of been soaked, Rocco doesnt use a glove either. Hard to believe that crap goes on in the pro game !

Van Pelt holed his birdie putt from about 60ft! Rocco needs his five-footer for par now!

Not over just yet Rocco has to show some bottle

Brilliant Stuff, delighted for him. Great personality. That was the best three holes of golf I've seen in a very very long time. I havent watched this tournament all week save for about a half hour yesterday.

He seems like a real genuine nice guy !!
Delighted to see him win it, some ending

Gotta be one of the best finishes to a golf tournament I've seen. It really swung back and forth!
The odds on Mediate went from 13/2 to 1/28 when that eagle went in!

He love to throw his clubs doesnt he?:p

Have a lot of respect for Rocco after the US Open 08 and hearing about what happened with his problems, so massive kudos to the guy.

I'll have to watch highlights tomorrow it looks like :)

He holed out every round of this tournament, one of them a hole in one.

Golf, without a doubt, is the most mentally challenging game there is.

(a silly example from my own world - I was playing a 2 ball on Saturday morning and there was a 3 ball coming hard behind us..everytime I'd go to putt I'd hear a ball landing near me. We were waiting on a tee box for the fairway to clear and they were putting out beside us "fire ahead lads." "eh we're waiting for the lads ahead to move on."
They then stood and watched us tee off. I of course sliced the ball into the trees. Mind game lads.

That was an amazing finish alright. Came out of the blue too considering for 12 or 13 holes it looked like nobody was gonna win it, the play was very cagey...what you'd expect from mostly players trying to hang onto their cards.

Extraordinary play on the last few though. The 17th was some hole. Goes to show length isn't everything, though the chances of holing out from that distance are so slim, it was astonishing Mediate made eagle.
