Hi there, I have started up a new a initiative where unemployed people can sign off the dole & work for them self's, the aim is to keep in mind why lots of people don't & that is loosing there other benefits like medical etc., as a single person you can earn up to 184 euro & still keep your other entitlements as if you were on the dole, this is my question with food you don't pay vat, so a self employed person has to pay prsi & tax, is the limit of 184 euro before or after you pay what you have too or do you have to pay any thing at all?

    Thanks in advance

If you earn €184 per week, you would be paying very little PRSI and probably no income tax.

Food and VAT have nothing to do with it.

Best of luck with whatever that is there, not a taxation issue.

I think basically you are suggesting that up to a quarter of the population declare themselves self employed and earn 200 bucks a week doing some imaginary jobs because the people that are currently self employed that can't make a living must be doing something wrong.

Anyway, take it to, well, there isn't a fanciful imagination forum so......... maybe thread requests?

    Thread locked.
