Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points. Start to create a new one, and it gives you the option to change the security settings

What router are you using, you can change the wep key to something like seeujimmy so you don't have to be entering 20 odd digits every time you want to connect a wireless device..

Its the 2247. Type 192.168.1.254 into the website address bar, and then go into the router wireless settings, and change the WEP there.

Click 'wireless', and then make note of or change your WEP. Then click save. and the new wep will be saved. This new code will be what you enter into your phone

Have you tried WPA security instead of WEP ?its more secure and you can use shorter passwords ?
