Hi, i'm a out of towner and i was in dublin yesterday and i was just wondering about those Bicycle Rickshaws in the city centre, you know the ones with the 7up ads.

Are they free? how far can you go with them? are you meant to give big tip?

Technically they're free as in there isn't a set price you have to pay but you are definitely expected to tip. I guess it's up to you how much depending on how many people are in the rickshaw and how far you're going but personally, I'd bear in mind that there's a (usually) young guy dragging me around the city for what should be a walkable distance so be generous :D

I've never seen them too far out of the city centre so I think it's just short trips. I'm sure the "driver" will tell you where they can and can't (or won't) go.

Not being a pr1ck here, but as they're sponsored by 7up and "free" surely the lads should be on min wage at least?

They're on a flat daily rate which isn't especially high. I don't know how much it works out per hour but I don't think it hits minimum wage.
