    http://twitter.com/gmp24_1

Basically they've decided to use twitter to stick up a summary of every call they receive today. Thought it might be appreciated here.

From just look at the feed, it seems to be mostly composed of
    1. Complaints about threatening behaviour or violence against a person.
    2. Reports of various thefts (shoplifting in particular)
    3. Traffic incidents
    4. Nuisance or "advice" calls.

All in all a good reflection of a normal day in policing land..

Its a great idea initiative if i do say so, really opens the publics eyes to the wide variety of genuine, right down to the plain and simple stupid calls dealt with! Ringing about social welfare there for example  Some PSNI facebook pages have introduced a similar kind of thing except they tally up the arrests and give minor details of the particular arrest.

    eg..
"Response officers stopped and searched a vehicle at Queens Parade last night following the report of persons setting off fireworks. 12 packets of fireworks seized and the occupants of the car reported for the offences "

I like the idea. It really does show where all the time goes on a shift.
